Finds in White.

The other day, while I was running errands, I noticed a new charity shop... I was surprised, I had never seen one before over here! Among piles of old clothes, I spotted some interesting things from the outside, I literally made a dash for them and they eventually came home with me! Today, for Kathleen's White Wednesday, I'm sharing my white treasures with you!

A whole box filled with vintage unused millinery flowers in different colors... I brought home 21 flowers for a song! I used the "technique" of asking for the price of the whole box without looking at what was inside! I have learnt this from fellow bloggers... and it always works! Hehehe.

Definitely my kind of find!

And these vintage pearls too! Give me flowers and pearls (and a few other things!) and I don't need anything else!

The ladies at the shop asked what I was going to do with all those millinery flowers- they looked rather shocked I was buying them all! No idea, but definitely will do them justice! I promise.

Have a fabulous rest of the week!

Today I Gave myself Permission to...

Stay barefoot in the garden...

Practice flight...

Play with colors (ooooh yeah!)...

... ops! ;))

Enjoy being still...

Take some 'me time' without feeling guilty...

Look at the world from another perspective...

... And you? Do you give yourself permission, every now and then?

Giveaway Time!

Don't you just love this kind of bounty from the summer garden? I do!

I like all flowers, and telling a favorite would be hard choice! But pink peonies and roses (together with sunflowers and blue hydrangeas) cast such a spell on me!
Here a generous bunch from my garden is arranged in an opulent centerpiece. Starfish, a vintage embroidered tablecloth, a handmade fabric heart, some vintage cups and saucers grace the scene... So summer-y, don't you think?

Today, I am offering two mounted prints of my photographs of your choice from my photography etsy shop to one lucky winner. My prints are fade-resistant, long- lasting and with rich and vivid colors. The watermark won't appear on the prints you receive. They will come mounted on a white standard-sized matte (to allow you to frame them easily!), signed by me on the front, and beautifully wrapped with the utmost care to avoid damage on their travel to you. Please note that the photographs will be cropped to fit the matte to perfection.
To enter, you can be a Pinkie or not, a blogger or not (just leave an email address), a follower or not. No shipping restrictions. Just visit my etsy shop and choose two prints, then come back and leave a comment on this post, telling me the title of the two prints you would like to win and why you chose them! Let's add some fun :)
The winner will be announced next Saturday.
The print below is for the purpose of explanation only, you can choose any photo in my shop!

I want to thank you in advance if you spread the word... feel free to use the first picture in this post for that purpose, if you like it. I will greatly appreciate, even if this is not necessary to be entered in the draw.
Good luck!
Hope you're having a happy Summer, and Happy Pink Saturday everyone!

My New White Pillows.

I thought to share with you my new white pillows today! Actually, nothing new has been used to make them! :) The vintage monogrammed pillowcases are a gift, they have our initials... they were bigger and some years ago I cut them to make these. Needless to say I wish I hadn't! Note to self: never cut a vintage piece if it is not damaged!
I also have the coordinated monogrammed bedlinen, I'm not sure what to make with it yet.

A glimpse of our bedroom... Whilst I am a very colorful girl, I love white bedlinen. We have some colored bedspreads and duvet covers, but the white ones are my absolute favorites!

I used my Great Grandmother's antique linen and some vintage doilies to make some pillows... very plain. Love them.

Just in case you're wondering, I made the shell wreath with shells we picked in Cape Cod a few years ago.
I'm linking to Kathleen's White Wednesday today, can't wait to see what the other participants are sharing this week!
Have a happy day!

Making Jam and Pops of Pink in the Garden.

Welcome to Pink Saturday, everyone!
Jam making is one of the priorities on my to-do list at the moment. In fact, because of my Mom's accident (she's doing well, by the way, thanks to all who asked!), this year I am behind harvesting and preserving fruit for the winter ahead. Moreover, last week we had a big hailstorm, which damaged fruits on the trees, apart of destroying almost all my flowers... sigh.

So I had to grab my baskets and off I went to the orchard. Fortunately, I could freeze a good amount of plums which I will be using for cakes and cooked fruit all over winter.
The rest is going to be preserved.

Each year I change the 'look' of my jam jars... I opted for this red and white checked fabric this time, love the cheery look!

Most of my hydrangeas have turned lilac this year...

Dahlias are finally blooming, they are very behind this year, because it was freezing back in April, and I had to postpone planting tubers.

Leaves were damaged by the hailstones, but I am lucky to still have some flowers around the garden.

It is terribly hot and humid over here, I'm doing the rain dance ;)

Coffee Break.

My life is a little overwhelming at the moment, a whirlwind of emotions and thoughts, and to be honest I'd need something more than a coffee break! I have to make decisions, and I don't mean which color I'd like new curtains to be (even if, believe me, that would be hard choice too!LOL). But I try to stay serene, positive and bubbly despite the fact I'm physically exausted... and just surrounding myself with what I love, helps me keep going!

Love my lilac quilt... needless to say that I'm planning to make another one (I think you're not surprised at all!), but at a much slower pace this time!

I want to celebrate my 300th follower, so I will have a giveaway soon. Stay tuned!
Have a wonderful Thursday!

Repurposing an Old Project.

I have promised to repost some old projects every now and then... here is one of my favorites!
I am still in love with this pink basket, and I thought you, Beverly and the Pinkies would have liked to see it again.

The before... not that attractive, uh?

After two or three coats of pink spray paint...

... I painted it white with diluted acrylics, and then wiped them away!

A new pink- striped skirt and a fabric heart, and voilĂ ! Ready for a pink tea!

Do you notice that my styling and shooting style have evolved since 2008 when I took these? I DO!!
Have a wonderful Pink Saturday, even if you are not a Pinkie!;))
